Cleaning out the refrigerator is not one of my favorite things to do. It usually occurs because I realize I have more science experiments going than good food to eat. But this latest cleaning stemmed from the fact I was going to buy some groceries and thought a clean refrigerator would be nice. I might actually be able to semi organize it. You see I made a menu for the next two weeks (the cooking adventure continues) and needed to start out on a fresh note. Now for someone who likes things clean and organized, you would think the refrigerator would not be a big deal. Well, as you can see that is myth.
Yet God used this as time to have a word with me. I mean sometimes I think God has such a sense of humor. Who uses cleaning the refrigerator to have a serious discussion? I mean really I want to be done with it. As I was cleaning out the bad stuff, God posed a question to my heart. Does your heart need a good cleaning? I was like what? I continued cleaning out the food and making soapy water to wash the shelves, etc. Of course once the question was out there, I had to think about it. I never really thought of cleaning out the refrigerator as a place to think about my heart and soul need a bit of cleaning. But when I began to really think about it, I understood what God was asking. I have had some things brewing and well the fact is I like to tell God how to handle things. Most of the time He is saying Child that is not what I was planning. So just like the refrigerator needed cleaning, I needed cleaning. As I began to clean the shelves with soapy water, I began to pray and more importantly really listen to what God was saying. It got through to me just like the soap got through the dirt. So now I have a clean refrigerator and my heart is back on the path of God's choosing rather than mine. I thought to myself later, maybe I should clean out the refrigerator more often and take a closer look at my path of my heart as well. It was a most unexpected evening of cleaning and prayer.
On a note of my cooking adventure, it continues this week with several recipes I think I might be able to handle and the family will not starve. We all know if worse comes to worse, I can whip up a batch of cookies in no time.
My teatip for the today is have a tea you enjoy. Explore and try them. Many tea places have samples so you can make a cup and then decide if you like it before buying a large amount. Many of the teas I have come to love, I found through samples. If you don't like your tea, you won't enjoy teatime.
Until our teacups meet again, I pray your day is blessed with joy and love. Thank you for stopping by for tea. I love your visits.
Blessings As Always,
Tammy

3 Faith-filled Thoughts:
I agree! God does have a sense of humor.
As we continue to grow closer to the Lord, we begin to see him more closely, in the mundane and simple moments of our daily lives. And that is a gift, friend. To think upon him even as we clean out our refrigerators.
May our thoughts always be so inclined with the treasure of Jesus.
peace to you this week~elaine
