Sometimes life has a way of making us forget that we are truly blessed. Lately the chaos and stress of the world have been creeping up in my heart and I have forgotten that even though I am in a season of trial, I have much to be thankful for. It is easy to let the storms of life overwhelm and seep into your heart. While God has not said there would never be trials, He did say He would never leave us nor forsake us. My current scripture verse I am working on for memory work reminded me that I have not been thankful, especially of late. It comes from Colossians 4:2.
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
Ouch! That was like an arrow being shot at my heart that I need an attitude adjustment. I have not been devoted to prayer lately let alone being thankful. I have just been trying to survive the everyday chaos of life at times. I pondered this quite a while and as I did I began to see how much I truly do have to be thankful for.
*Family who bring such joy and love to my life.
*Friends who hold me up in prayer, love, laughter, and joy.
*God loves me right where I am in the journey with Him.
*I am forgiven.
*My beautiful granddaughters who are bringing a whole new element to my life.
*Teaching my students...my butterflies who have wings and give me wings to fly.
*A house to live in.
*A new day to live and treasure.
*Good health
*Jesus my Savior
The list could go on. I was surprised at easy it was to think of all I had to be thankful for and I realized God gave me this verse to remind of it daily. I found today a little easier to deal with the chaos. The trials are still there but I am persevering, overcoming my doubts, and learning what real faith is...hard as that is somedays. So my dear friends, when the world feels like it is taking over your heart, take the time to be thankful. We have much to give thanks for and a God who loves so much. Until our teacups meet again, be blessed with joy and love.
Blessings as always,
Tammy

2 Faith-filled Thoughts:
Sometimes its easier to focus on the trials because they take up so much of our time and attention. But God is always working around us...maybe causing you to take a phone that made you work over 15 minutes and avoid a terrible traffic jam on the interstate (happened to me today). God's blessings are sometimes just the very normal day, sun coming up kind of blessings.
How true! Once we start thinking about how blessed we are... we realize we are blessed beyond measure!
Hasn't Me, Myself & Lies been amazing? Isn't it strange how we can be so confident one day... and other days we feel like we've got nothing to offer?
Hope you are relaxing over the summer! I'm just back from 2 weeks on the east coast... so I'm catching up on all my favorite blogs! Like yours!
